Can Christians Engage Philosophy for the Glory of God?
Colossians 3:8 leaves many believers hesitant to merge the worlds of philosophy and Christianity. But what does the Bible say?

- After Athens, Paul went to Corinth. In I Cor 2:1-5, he summarizes his thinking about the whole matter. 1 Corinthians 2:1–5 (NASB95) 1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. I think Paul got off his usual manner and realized later that he shouldn't have. But I love philosophy. Just too busy with the Bible.
- When speaking to non-Christians about my faith in Jesus I often say that what Jesus taught, and what I choose to guide how I live is my "philosophy" of life. Not sure if its always effective or even if saying it is a valid description. ...but it works for me :)
