When a church has true peace between those who lead and those who are led that church lives faithfully in God's plan and gives him great glory. This weekend we saw this in the message, "Leadership On Track." The passage our message was based upon (1 Thess 5:12-13) is a great passage to return to again and again as we think about the way each of us leads others spiritually as well as the way each of us appreciates those who have an impact on our own spiritual growth. I encourage you to listen or watch the message here and you can also find the sermon notes here.
This weekend we also kicked off Operation Christmas Child. This simple service project is a great way to meet some needs of children around the world while blessing them with gifts during Christmas and, most importantly, sharing the news of Jesus's great love. I hope you consider creating a box this year and being part of this great opportunity. There is a bit more information here if you are interested.
There are also a few quick items I would like to draw your attention to:
Good News Clubs started this past week across Longview and Kelso! Please be in prayer for this ministry as it cares for elementary-age children and shares the story of Jesus!
Trunk or Treat is quickly approaching. While we can always use more candy, right now the big focus is on inviting friends, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers to come by on October 29th. The details are on our website here.
Our church annual meeting is scheduled for November 14th at 530pm. This is a chance to share in communion together, get updates about the state of the church and our ministries, and approve the 2022 budget. Everyone is welcome and those who are members are especially encouraged to come and participate in this important meeting.
That is all for now. I pray you have a great week and continue to grow in the grace and truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13
