“The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’” “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5 NLT
From the beginning Satan is a work trying to convince people that God is less than honest! We know that men was created in the image of God, a reflection of His perfection and holiness. Satan casts a shadow on God’s relationship with them by implying that He is withholding something of great importance. His implication is that God is afraid that man will become greater the Himself! Since that fateful moment, man has been trying his best to become god! Satan’s attack was against God’s integrity concerning His word. It is exactly Satan’s plan today. We constantly hear his attack against God. “Did God really mean you would cast out demons?” “Did God really mean that He would provide for you in all circumstances?” The goal is to fracture the foundation of our faith so that we would not have a place from which to battle the enemy. The next attack was against Adam and Eve’s identity.
Satan implies that somehow, God had made them inferior to Himself, when, they were already created in His own image! Satan knew that if he could steal their identity, create doubt about the Father’s love for them, they would ultimately seek another path. Unfortunately, we know how that story ended! They believed that they were inferior as fear of who they were and pride of who they could been entered into their hearts.
“Their identify was lost as they reached for the knowledge of man and not the life of the Father” Dale Mast
Because of the sin nature in us, we are forever battling against the onslaught of the enemy’s lies. The Scripture tells us,
“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].” Romans 12:2 AMP
The key to success is to daily be in the Word of God. The world is full-speed in trying to convince man that he is god of his own destiny. The Apostle Paul encouraged the believers to “not be conformed to this world.” The World’s system is corrupted and filled with pain and sorrow as man try’s to sooth himself with physical things and fleshly pleasures. We are called to be “transformed,” changed that is progressively becoming more and more like Christ. As we pursue that Goal, our eyes are opened, our spirits clamed and our trust in the Father’s love restored!
Let me encourage you today that God, He is good! The Scripture tells us that He knows that plans He has for us, not to harm us but to provide and love us. If you doubt that today simply look to the cross and see the process He paid as He demonstrates His love for you! Press in, press on, and continue the good fight for in the end, if we stay the course, WE WIN!
