This afternoon our students listened to the testimony of a recipient of an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. Jaki grew up in an orphanage in Guatamala until she was adopted at the age of 6 and lived in Maryland. She shared with our students that the gifts she received in her shoebox were so precious that she would sleep with them under her pillow so that no one would take them.
OCC's mission is to share the love of Jesus with children around the world through these shoeboxes. More information about OCC's organization can be found here.
In the next few weeks, our classes will be collecting items so that our Student Council and Lutheran Junior Honor Society can pack as many shoeboxes as possible. Families that wish to pack a shoebox together can contact the school office for more information, as well. Please consider giving generously towards the items that your child's class is collecting according to the chart below, and please keep in mind that the size of these items must fit inside a shoebox. We are also in need of monetary donations for the shipping costs of these shoeboxes.
Here is what each class will be collecting:
Preschool 3's - small stuffed animals, tennis balls, toothbrushes
Preschool 4's - plastic toy figures, foam balls, toothpaste
