For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Thought for Today
The new year is a time when we map out the year ahead. We place significant events on important dates. We lay plans for our vacations and catalogue all of the school events. In truth, each event we write is a hope for the future. We do not truly know what the year holds, so we do our best to set our hopes in place on our calendar. The wonderful news at the beginning the year is that God does have plans for our year and knows exactly what the future holds. We know that we can trust Him, and no matter what the future holds, He has promised to be there with us when it comes to pass.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You know all of my days and my times are in Your hand. Help me to move forward in this year with eager anticipation of what we will encounter together.
Devotional Quote
Trust in God’s timing. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart — Adam Cappa
