I discovered an anomaly with Tag naming.
A tag name with a colon ‘:’ such as "Lexicon:Greek" --
1. will be found if selected under the “My Tags” Filter section
2. will NOT be found when entered using “tag:” or “mytag:” in the “Find” box of the Library or the “Start with” box of the Collections window. The extra colon seems to confuse the search.
A dash ‘-‘ or an underline ‘_’ as a separator in tag names will be found.
- just put quotation marks around the full tag. If you search mytag:”Lexicon:Greek” you should be okay. or search mytag:Lexicon AND mytag Greek and you should get the same results.
- I had tested the quote marks configuration, and neither tag:"Test:Tag" nor mytag:"Test:Tag" works. I just now tested the "AND" version that you suggested by simply trying a search on the second half of my Test:Tag tag by specifying mytag:Tag - that produced no search results. Using tag:Tag also produced nothing. Specifying mytag:Test (the first half of the tag) did produce results, but it included a resource with a tag Testing:Tagging. It seems the additional ':' in the string causes search confusion so neither the whole string nor just the post-colon string is found. If a separator is wanted, is seems dashes and underlines are safe choices.
- I have colons in many of my tags and have no problem searching them. Let me try some tags like yours and see if I can discover anything.
