Quick question, and if anyone here can point me to a specific place that answers my question, that would be great to. Should we understand ουδε to mark the same kind of progression as δε, or does the negation change the syntactical function of the base conjunction?
- Hi Cameron, Ουδε is going to have a similar constraint to δε, but the thing that's different is that you'll see it joining phrases a lot more often than δε. It still indicates that what follows is distinct and separate from what precedes, typically resulting in more of a contrastive comparison. Hope that helps, Steve
