I loaded the Logos 7 engine on my desktop. It takes so long to start it every time. My logos 4 took only a few minutes to start. Logos 7 takes 15 to 20 minutes to start. Anyone can share their experience? And one can help to make it runs faster?
- Get a Solid State Hard Drive (SSD) if you don't already have one. It's a game changer! Really just a faster computer in general is a must. Logos is absolutely huge, which could be a downfall of the program if you don't have a fast computer. But the biggest upgrade you could ever do is to go from an spinning hard drive to an SSD! You can get them pretty cheap as aftermarket products! You may had an msata or M.2 slot empty in your computer. Most laptops do... I can fire up Logos and query a sermon guide search on a passage all within 1 minute! often times within 15 seconds...
- Lots of RAM really speeds it up too. I added 8 Meg. to what I had and it cut the initial loading by 80 %. Like Matthew say the new s/s hard drives now available do about the same thing as the extra RAM.
- SSD may help.
