- I would look again at this. I will never use the NIV. I have certain passages that I use to check out a translation. Ephesians 5 is one. I also don't like the fact that the NIV doesn't use italics to show what was added by the translators. I will stick with the NASB for reading large portions of the OT and Greek for the NT, but NASB is still the best, particularly for its marginal notes which are very helpful.
robert lineberry — EditedYes the NASB is great. Have used it and will continue to use it. Great translation. Have used the NASB the most. I think the best translation is the one you like the best. Anything that will help me to look at Gods Word is the best. There are some verses that I memorized years ago sound the best with the King James version like Psalm 119:11.
