SCFC Weekly Connection
THIS SUNDAY
What do we do when the answer we are seeking from God doesn’t come right away?
What happens when we get a different answer than the one we expected to get?
What happens when we pray and things get worse instead of better?
What happens when deliverance is delayed?
Learn how to get past the disappointment by exploring some Biblical life patterns and spiritual disciplines that will prepare you for times like this when they come in your life and to help you know how to better navigate encouraging conversations in your relationships with others.
Join us in person this Sunday at 10:30am or on our livestream by clicking here.
LAST WEEK'S MESSAGE
WHY is the resurrection of Jesus the BEST NEWS EVER? Because it is true! Coming after what seemed like defeat when he was crucified on the cross a few days earlier, his resurrection proves God is God, proves Jesus is God, and proves we have hope in our own life because he lives, we live. Watch this message to understand why Easter is indeed the BEST NEWS EVER!
MOTHER'S DAY, MAY 8TH
This year on Mother's Day (May 8th), Lisa Garon will bring us a message of love and hope highlighting a key mother in the Bible (spoiler alert-- it's not Mary) to help us understand God's beautiful feminine side.
Mothers: We will have a nice plant/flower for you to take home after our Mother's Day service.
DAILY BIBLE READING
A recent study showed that when we are in the Bible a minimum of 4 times a week feelings like depression, anxiety, loneness, spiritually stagnation, lack of purpose all drops around 62%.
Ability to share our faith jumps 200% when we are in scripture at least 4 times a week. 1-3 times a week is super negligible and doesn’t touch the areas mentioned.
If you need a Bible, please let us know and we will provide one for you. Alternatively, you can use the Youversion Bible app for free.
Engage in Scripture like never before. Download the free YouVersion Bible app and enjoy regular time with the Bible, right when and where you need it. With the free Bible app, you can access your bookmarks, community contributions, and daily reading plans no matter where you are.

EVANGELICAL FRIENDS MISSION
Evangelical Friends Mission’s 2022 Easter Offering is now available at https://friendsmission.com/easter/.
Jesus’ Passion for the world takes center stage during Holy Week. In the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, Jesus guaranteed the fulfillment of his famous words, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. His passion was clear.
This year we invite you to join us in celebrating and advancing Jesus’ passion! We encourage you to use the resource “Jesus’ Passion, Our Passion!” This is a guide to help God’s people to take a deep dive into the beauty of Holy Week. We also ask you to prayerfully consider propelling the Luke 10 Initiative forward through an Easter offering. These gifts will help us fuel the movement that was the essence of Jesus’ passion – that all would experience the transforming power of the Resurrection.

HELPFUL LINKS
Serve
As followers of Jesus, we want to do what Jesus did. This means we are to actively demonstrate self-sacrificial love by serving the people around us and setting aside our own personal desires or preferences. It takes a lot of volunteers to sustain our weekly routines at Sherwood Community Friends Church. As a family, we ask everyone to please all pitch in.
Give
We are partners with Jesus to serve our Sherwood community and want to be a church marked by radical generosity for God's Kingdom work. Ten percent of every dollar that comes in to SCFC goes directly to supporting Northwest Yearly Meeting to come alongside what they do both locally and globally. Help us help more people find and follow Jesus.
