      Carols on Christmas

10:00-10:55 AM - A time to come before service and listen to Christmas carols and songs played on the piano. No reason other than I never get to play all of my Christmas music during December, so I'd love for you to join me at any time in the hour before service and enjoy them with me!
      1. I love listening to your beautiful voice and piano playing. You have been blessed w amazing talent. God Bless You Miriam 🙏

How about a chuckle to start your Tuesday? Two elves walk into a bar. The dwarf just laughs and laughs as he walks under it!

I work in a building that’s roughly 50 yards across the parking lot from our main bank building and make frequent trips between the two. Because I spend 90% of my days under fluorescent lighting staring at a computer screen, these trips are a lifeline tethering me to sanity and the world of the living. This afternoon though, as I was making my return trip, the gorgeous sunset literally took my breath away. I did something I rarely do: I stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of the side walk. It was an almost subconscious act, a compulsion from within. For just a brief moment I was in true awe. The noise of traffic around me at the busiest intersection in the great metropolis of Greensboro faded away, and I could almost hear the pink, purple, orange, and blue clouds singing out the praises of their Maker. It was a moment of pure worship. But in an instant I was suddenly aware of my surroundings and how I must have looked. A car drove past. They stared. I must look insane. But God. Graciously, I realized in the next instant that stopping and staring into the sky in praise was, in fact, the most sane thing to do. Going about our lives ignoring the glory of God literally painted across the sky is insane. Not taking the time to notice the image of God in the face of a child, or the beauty of God in the song of a bluebird, or the genius of God in the wings of a bumble bee; that is insane. He has written eternity into the very world we inhabit. Look up and wonder. Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world...”
      1. And this is the reality of every day, all day and we miss it. I am often wondering, "What have I missed today because I was too preoccupied?" So glad you had that moment of wonder to awaken you to God's constant invitation for us to notice Him, and in noticing to worship.
      2. It is "WORTHWHILE" to be still and to know He IS GOD!
      1. Wow…. And right ? 😳😭

Exodus 3:7-8 “Then the LORD said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them…” The LORD SEES and HEARS, the LORD KNOWS, and the LORD has come down to deliver. Christmas in Exodus.

        2. We are studying and thankful for Liberty in kindergarten today, especially the liberty to pray and worship and learn as we choose.
      1. Here is a fascinating and thought provoking recent study from LifeWay on church size. What are your thoughts and reactions to this?
        1. That’s kind of what I expected but I was shocked that large churches of 250+ was only 8%.
