WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
Leaders and Readers have kindly volunteered from all the churches in the CTiG
District. We look forward to welcoming you all to this lovely service, on Friday, 6th March, at The Old Farmhouse, Elstead at 2 p m, prepared by the women of Zimbabwe who currently face a horrific famine as highlighted in the CAFOD appeal. We are seeking a sisal mat and musical instruments from Zimbabwe which we could use for the service – hand rattles, marimba, mbira or tambourine?
We also need volunteers to bake cakes for the refreshments after the service. If you can help please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 424988.
NEW INITIATIVE STARTING 6th MARCH
We are planning to introduce Connect Groups! What are Connect Groups? They are gatherings where people meet to support each other spiritually and practically, with discussion, prayer and worship. Initially there are two leaders who help others to grow, so that new leaders and new prayer champions develop, but the groups are run by everybody for everybody and every opinion and person is a valued and valuable part of the group. The initial focus of the first Connect Group will be the Prayer Course. This is because prayer is central to our Christian lives and to our mission in the Parish. Prayer is also challenging so it makes sense to learn more about the different types of prayer and how we can improve our
communication with God.
The initial group will run from 9 15 a m to 11 a m on Friday mornings, starting on Friday, 6th March with a shared breakfast, and will meet every two weeks. If you are interested in joining a Connect Group, whether on a Friday morning or another time, please CLICK HERE to register your interest. Finally, please do invite other people you know who might be interested. All are welcome.
