An update from Matthew Amanda: Matt took a shuttle to the airport in Jakarta this afternoon, and should board his flight to Papua shortly. He still isn't feeling 100% better so please continue to pray for his health and strength while traveling.
        1. Please pray.

An update from Matthew Amanda: Just an brief update on our first two weeks back... We arrived to Jakarta on the evening of January 22 and thankfully had no trouble with entry or customs. We were not aware of it at the time, but on January 1st, the President of Indonesia announced that the widespread Covid restrictions were being brought to an official end. Because of this, we didn't need to wear masks on the flight and were not asked about our vaccination status upon entry. We arrived to our house in Bandung late that night, and the past two weeks have been spent trying to adjust to the local time and settle in at our house. For some reason, we have had a harder time getting over jet lag this time. Our sleeping hours are still a little off, but we are getting better. This week the boys started back to their martial arts classes, and we are trying to get into a school routine. Yesterday Matt also started back to school for the semester. It's been a joy to reunite with friends here, see some familiar faces around the neighborhood, and catch up with our house helpers. Although we had a friend staying in our home for part of our time away, it has mostly been sitting empty for the past 9 months. Our house helpers have continued to come to the house and have kept it very clean, but unfortunately a number of repairs needed attention right away. We arrived to no hot water, a water leak in one bathroom, a broken washing machine, and several holes in the ceiling, among other things. It's to be expected after such a long time away, but just takes some time to get things going again! We have also been dealing with another round of sickness, which has been very tiring. Four of us had several days of fever, and we also had a cold going around. Everyone seems to be on the mend except for Matt, who has started feeling really unwell tonight. He is scheduled to leave tomorrow for a trip to Papua, Indonesia, along with Paul and Lane Snider and Jeff Shawver (all currently en route from the US). Please pray for their travels and that Matt's symptoms would improve so that he can join them as planned! Thank you so much for your prayers! - Amanda

Please lift up the Glass family. They are now back in Bandung, Indonesia. Pray for the following: 1-Amanda and Elliot are currently sick. Within the family, one will get better and then another gets the same sickness. Pray for healing and God's strength. Pray also for good rest, especially for Amanda. 2-There's a lot of little projects and tasks around the house that need to be done after not being tending to over the last few years. They are currently without electricity and waiting for the company to come out and fix this. 3-Matt will leave for a pre-planned trip to Papua this Sunday for two weeks. Pray for God's work through him as well as Amanda and the boys.

He’s almost off the Propofol. He should be responding to stimuli and showing brain activity. He’s not. They’re continuing to take him out of the coma. They’re ordering a CT scan. They’re trying to get him in for a MRI but it is so backed up.
            1. Praying 🙏🙏🙏

UPDATE: He had a great night. No seizures. His brain rested. They said he’s looking great this morning. They just did some X-rays of his lungs, chained his linens, checked his EEG connections. His levels and vitals are looking good so far. No fluids in his lungs currently. The medically induced coma is doing what they wanted it to from what we can tell. Everyone that comes in remarks just how beautiful he is. Today is his first birthday. We love you all.

He is officially in the medically induced coma. His seizure bursts have stopped for the moment. Pray his little body now rests and his brain begins to get the healing it now needs.
            1. Thank you Jesus for answering our prayers for Gabe’s seizure to stop. We pray that this trend continues so that his little body can rest and begin to heal. Lord you are in control and we lean on you during this difficult time. Grant comfort and peace to Austin, Valerie and the family. Amen
            2. Precious Austin we have been in constant prayer for Gabe. It has to be so difficult hearing from each of specialists come in. God’s presence is all around you and Valerie as you travel through uncharted waters. His Hand touches Every Doctor giving divine wisdom and complete understanding. He is guiding every hand, every piece of equipment. Please don’t feel you need to be a tower of strength. There is great strength in tears and cleansing. We are surrounding your family with Love and Prayer🥰🙏🙏🙏
            3. Thank God when we r weak he is strong
          4. Please pray.

They’re still seeing more seizures so they’re upping the sedatives for the seizures in order to stop them from continuing so his brain may rest. This could cause his blood pressure to drop but they will have medicine on hand ready to get it back up if need be.
            1. They’re essentially putting him in a therapeutic, medically induced coma in order to stop the seizure activity so his brain can rest and it can fight better.
            2. He is officially in the medically induced coma. His seizure bursts have stopped in the moment.
          5. Please pray.

The neurologist came and reviewed Gabriel’s MRI. He said that there is swelling in the brain but not as much as he sometimes sees in similar patients. It could get worse or it could get better, so it’s just a matter of waiting to see how Gabe does and waiting for another MRI in the next few days. The swelling is in a deep part of his brain that affects movement. Also, his blood culture just came back and showed a bacterial infection, so he is being put on an additional antibiotic to fight that infection. Keep praying for our sweet Gabe.
            1. Praying and will be praying during community group tonight.
