- Hymns  -

Away in a manger, no crib for His bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head, The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes, I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the night sky, And stay by my side till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay, Close by me forever, and love me I pray, Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, And take us to Heaven to live with Thee there.

Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright, Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight, Glories stream from heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing, ’Alleluia, Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night! Son of God, love's pure light, Radiant beams from Thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus Lord, at Thy birth

Silent Night, Holy night! Wondrous Star, lend thy light, with the angels let us sin sing alleluia to our king; Christ, the Savior is born! Christ, the Savior, is born!

Joy to the world! the Lord is come: Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare him room, And heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the earth! the Savior reigns: Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains, Repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make his blessings flow, Far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove, The glories of his righteousness, And wonders of his love.

Heidelberg Catechism

Lord’s Day 47

122. What is the first petition?

“Hallowed be Your name;” that is, grant us, first, rightly to know You, and to sanctify, magnify, and praise You in all Your works, in which Your power, goodness, justice, mercy, and truth shine forth; and further, that we so order our whole life, our thoughts, words, and deeds, that Your Name may not be blasphemed, but honored and praised on our account.

Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only-begotten Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy, universal Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
