SCC Choir rehearsal will be after the church service TODAY for the Christmas music on December 22nd. Rehearsals will continue every Sunday. There is still time for any interested person to join.

Get ready to enjoy a wonderful time of fellowship and delicious food NEXT Sunday, November 17 at 5:00 p.m. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board. Our annual Thanksgiving dinner is always a special time to share memories and thank God for our many Blessings. 

The Elders will meet NEXT Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m.

The monthly Seniors’ Trip will be NEXT Tuesday, November 19. More details are coming soon!

The SCC Church is invited to an Open House at the home of Len and Karen Smith in Johnson City. Afterwards we will caravan to the Christmas Concert at Milligan College in Seeger Chapel. This concert is guaranteed to put you in the spirit of Christmas. All choirs, the orchestra, brass band, and ensembles will present the music of the season. You will know what it is like to be in a beautiful Cathedral in Europe for an evening of inspiration. If you can attend. please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board.

November’s Outreach partner is Emmanuel Christian Seminary. Emmanuel is a graduate theological seminary near Johnson City, TN. The school offers three degrees: Mater of Arts in Religion, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry. The student body is composed of approx. 150 students, mostly pursuing master/doctorate degrees and mostly coming for the Christian Church, Churches of Christ, and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Other denominations have also attended such as Episcopal, Baptist and Methodist. Emmanuel has now joined with Milligan College. In past years, Suburban has had several ministers/interns serving at the church from Emmanuel.

Suburban again will provide families with a Thanksgiving Meal prepared by Food City. Families will be chosen from Lynn Pannell’s Bristol Housing Program and from our Suburban church family. If you know of a family who is in need, please see Jeffery Musick.

As we look to the beginning of the busy holiday season, let us remember to pray that we do not lose sight of what is important. Let us remember:
