God is Faithful

Lamentations 3:21-26 ESV
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him." The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
Faithfulness is defined as lasting loyalty and trustworthiness. Throughout scripture God is described as faithful and there is overwhelming evidence to convict Him. He has proven that He doesn’t change sides and that He can be trusted. Look at Abraham for example. Abraham chose to worship God, to call on the Name of the Lord, and the Lord has not let the world forget that even though thousands of years have gone by. God made Abraham promises, and He is still keeping them. There are people that are related to Abraham through their DNA and all over the world they are blessed. Jews are blessed and Muslims are blessed. They are numerous and in many cases they are wealthy, and this has nothing to do with them. It’s all because God is faithful to a promise He made to their ancestor, Abraham.
Galatians 3:28-29 says, “28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Because of Jesus we who have accepted Him are now Abraham’s seed. We are spiritual descendants of Abraham, and regardless of our DNA God has decided to make us heirs to the promise He gave Abraham. God is faithful, therefore God has blessed us whether or not we have decided to live in that blessing. Everything God spoke to Abraham, God has for us. The promise that allowed Isaac to reap a harvest in a famine is for us. The promise that allowed Jacob to thrive under the manipulations of Laban is for us. The promise that caused the Israelites to leave slavery with all the wealth of Egypt is for us. The promise He gave them to remove sickness from them is for us. Every promise God gave the physical descendants of Abraham, God has given us, and if He’s faithful to the Jews and the Muslims, imagine what He has for those of us that have chosen Him and are now His children. Have faith in the faithfulness of God.
Thank You God for being faithful even when I am not. Holy Spirit, help me to trust You more. Open my eyes to see the blessing that the Lord has given me. Help me to live in it and be a blessing to those around me. In Jesus’ Name…
