With All Your Heart

Proverbs 3:5-6 The Passion Translation
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.6 Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
It’s interesting that these verses fell on this day. These are the first verses I taught my daughter Kyla. At two years old, she could quote, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”, and today she will be having a procedure on her shoulder. It’s almost as if “Kyla’s scripture” showed up today. But that’s just like God. His Word is always timely. He speaks to us with what we need for what we are facing that day, and the purpose of the Word is not just to help us make it through the day, but to lead us to victory that day. To live in victory you have to trust the Lord completely, or with all your heart. This is a great opportunity to stop and see if all of your heart is available to trust God.
Sometimes our hearts are preoccupied and we don’t have all of it to trust God with. Have you ever said something like, “That’s weighing on my heart” or “something’s heavy on my heart” or “my heart’s just not into it” or even “that broke my heart”. When we are brokenhearted or down about something it’s hard to go to God with all your heart. I suggest you bring Him your heart in whatever stage it is in and allow Him to heal it. 1 Peter 5:7 says to “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Start with trusting God with your anxieties, worries, disappointments and hurts. Trust Him with your heart and watch Him work in your life.
Lord, Thank You for Loving me with all that’s going on in my heart. I bring You all the brokenness and weight I’ve been carrying. I bring you the fear and anxiety that has been stored up in my heart. Help me to trust You with my whole heart. In Jesus’ Name…
- I want to wish my niece Zaria a Happy 17th Birthday! May the favor of God surround you.
