RCC Weekly Update 05/06/21
A Message from Pastor Jerry
Mother's Day. Two words that can strike fear into the hearts of dads the world over as they contemplate how to best bless mom.
How about breakfast in bed? But wait, where's the waffle maker? Is waffle batter the same as pancake batter? And what exactly is "batter" anyway? Hmm, toast sounds great right about now... Maybe I'll take charge of getting the kids ready for church. So, where are my daughter's clippy hair things (the ones that look like a plastic venus fly trap plant)? And now that they've outgrown Garanimals clothing, how am I supposed to know what top matches these pants? And why are they called "tops" anyway instead of simply "shirts"? Wait, you guys didn't sign the card yet?! Hurry up, it's on the table, and don't let mom see you!
Yes, Mother's Day can get interesting! But let's not forget how to truly bless moms - by honoring them as the women God uniquely designed to reflect the image of His beauty, His wisdom, and His strength as only a mom can do.
Join us this Sunday at the Ridge as we celebrate Mother's Day together!
Have a great week!
Hey Kids! Ms. Heather has something extra special planned for you this week at Ridge Kids! 😊 Can't wait to see you on Sunday!
Hey Kids! Did you know that you can use your hands as a "handy" helper when you pray? Here's how ...
1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So you can begin your prayers by praying for those who are closest to you ... your family & friends.
2. Your next finger is your pointer finger. It can remind you to pray for those who teach you ... especially your Dad & Mom. It's a lot of work to be a teacher!
3. Your tallest finger can remind you to pray for your pastor who stands tall each Sunday to lead your church!
4. Your fourth finger is your weakest finger. It can remind you to pray for those who are weak or sick.
5. And lastly, comes your little finger ... your pinkie can remind you to pray for yourself. Never be shy to talk to God about all the things that matter to you.

How can I find the Faithlife Directory?
If you are using the Faithlife App on your mobile phone, there are two ways to access the Directory. When you open your Faithlife App on your phone, look in the very bottom right-hand corner. There you will see three tiny horizontal lines in a row. You will want to click on this. It will open a menu-option page ... the fifth menu item down in the list is "Directory."
The second way of accessing the Faithlife Directory on your mobile phone is to open your Faithlife App, click on "The Ridge Community Church" link to go to our church main page. At the very tip-top edge of our church page, up above the header, you will notice three tiny horizontal lines in a row. You will want to click on this. It will open a drop-down of menu options. You will notice the "Directory" is about halfway down the list of options.
You can also access the Faithlife Directory on your computer. Just log into Fafithlife, and go to our church's main Faithlife page. Look for the blue left-hand column off to the side. The "Directory" is in this list of options.
You might notice that your name is not listed in the Directory. Our Church Directory is Opt-In, according to each person's preference. If you would like to be included in the Directory, contact email@example.com.
