Our Story

April 2006

Bishop Stafford and a few members decided to start Tabernacle of Faith Community Church we were located at that time on Redbird Lane and Houston School Road. Dallas, TX during our tenure there we started our Annual Christmas clothing give away, where the late Mother Josephine Dupree was instrumental in all facets of the church, she started the Pastor’s Aide committee “Pastors Helping Hand”. We had several members and ministers added to the ministry. We hosted several Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship quarterly district meetings and events.

We had a great time in the Lord after about 24 months, at that time Pastor believed the Lord wanted us to have our own place that looked like a church so we moved to a location off of Dowdy Ferry Road, and we stayed there about 12 months.

Then we moved to 9709 C F Hawn FWY Suite G in Dallas TX, we gained several Minister and Members, the late Bishop Sylvester McGee join Tabernacle of Faith and was named “Pastor of Wisdom”.

During our time at CF Hawn, the lord moved and we begin to grow in our membership.  We was able to hire our first part-time musician Bro. Marvin Scales. He played for our 8am Morning worship, service and special programs.

While at C F Hawn we had a desire to build or buy a new location, during this time our faith was tested we had set our eye on a building in West Dallas, we really believed God was going to bless us and give it to us. We had members to sign on behalf of the Church because we had a desire to move to this new location. We had prayer service at the new building, we cleaned the new building because it had been vandalized, we had great hope as you can see during this time. However the Lord didn’t grant us the move.

After we couldn’t get the funding by the bank the Church sold to another church. Pastor continued to believe that God was going to bless us and allow us to move. One day pastor was riding with Bishop Richardson and saw this building, after much prayer we. Decided to move out of our building and gave notice because we believe that the renovation would be complete. Well the Devil got busy again

During our growth process we had $13,000.00 stolen from us, by a contractor. However God has blessed us over and over again.

Our Current location is 3907 Holmes Street, Dallas, TX 75215, God has continued to show us favor as we remain faithful to what he has called us to do.
