Digital Logos Edition
At a time when many families struggle with issues like drug addiction, verbal abuse, and other problems, some Christians find little comfort or help from their faith or the church. Many seek help from various recovery programs.
Yet David Thompson believes that Christian discipleship is the best form of recovery for hurting families. With the New Testament book of Ephesians as scaffolding, he builds the case that emotional wholeness is the best pursued in the context of Christian discipleship.
In language both incisive and poignant, Thompson candidly offers his own family's experience as a example of God's healing, then offers solid, biblical principles that any family can use to find forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and recovery. The inevitable conclusion is that "the Good News in Jesus is fundamentally not about our helping ourselves but about being thoroughly transformed by the Spirit of the Living God."
