Digital Logos Edition
This quarter’s Study Themes are: “Church Gone Wrong”, “Ministry Done Right”, and “I (Still) Do.” The five lessons in “Church Gone Wrong” are based on selected passages from 1 Corinthians and examine problems in that early church, many of which churches continue to face today. This study is important as it provides biblical answers to fixing what’s wrong in the church. The last lesson in this unit is the annual coordinated Evangelism Lesson. “Ministry Done Right,” a three-session Study Theme, is based on selected passages from 2 Corinthians. These lessons examine the nature of the Christian ministry, qualities required of all who do ministry, and the motivations for doing ministry. It also looks at financial giving as a means of doing and supporting ministry. This study will help equip believers to minister more effectively in their churches. “I (Still) Do” is a five-session Study Theme that explores the biblical perspective of marriage in light of society’s effort to redefine marriage. This study will help believers understand and uphold God’s standards for marriage. The Herschel Hobbs Commentary contains expository treatment of each lesson passage in the adult Bible Studies for Life curriculum for this quarter. The approach includes both “Search the Scriptures” and “Spiritual Transformations.” Greek and Hebrew words are expounded, the message of the Scripture is explained, and its truth is applied to life. The Bible exposition is based on the King James Version.
