Born Again: A Biblical and Theological Study of Regeneration

Which of Jesus’ statements have evangelicals of the last 250 years preached on more often than any other? Probably, “You must be born again.” What metaphor finds wider use in evangelistic appeals than the one of rebirth? But do Christians today, not to mention other people, grasp the full biblical meaning of the doctrine called regeneration? The author fears they do not. He leads the reader through all biblical references to the new birth. Then he traces the doctrine’s development throughout the church's history, from Augustine through the Reformers to Billy Graham. He has made Born Again “intelligible to any thinking person.”
