The Brownsville revival has been called the longest local-church revival in American history, drawing more than three million people over a period of five years (1995–2000). Crowds would begin lining up at 6:00 a.m. and wait 12 hours for the doors to open for the night service, where hundreds would respond to the piercing calls of repentance and salvation.
Dr. Michael L. Brown provided the theological groundwork for the revival, founding a full-time ministry training school, teaching day sessions on Fridays and Saturdays, and often preaching nights as well. For the first time, these messages’ complete text is made available, many of which left the crowds on their knees in tears of repentance. Since every revival is surrounded by controversy, these messages will also help to separate fact from fiction, allowing readers to discover what countless thousands of leaders and believers learned from Dr. Brown during his years of involvement in the revival (1996–2000).
Michael L. Brown holds a PhD in Near Eastern languages and literature from New York University. He has taught at Southern Evangelical Seminary, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Fuller Theological Seminary, Denver Theological Seminary, the King’s Seminary, and Regent University School of Divinity. Brown is the author of 25 books and a leading Messianic Jewish apologist, the founder and president of the FIRE School of Ministry in Concord, NC, and the director of the Coalition of Conscience. He is also the host of The Line of Fire, a nationally syndicated, daily talk show.
