Robert L. Plummer is associate professor of New Testament interpretation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in missionary assignments in China, Israel, Trinidad, Ghana, Malaysia, and Turkey. Plummer is the author of Paul’s Understanding of the Church’s Mission. He has contributed to the Westminster Theological Journal, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, the New Holman Bible Dictionary, the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology, and many other publications. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Institute for Biblical Research.

Wow, what a great book! Talk about a reexamination to The Bible and Bible study! This book does provide some great help into getting the most out of your Bible study - starting from the foundation up. From "How can we trust the Bible?" to "How do we interpret the Bible correctly" (plus a ton of other topics), this book provides a challenge. I borrowed this book from my church's library, but I WILL be purchasing this book and I have a feeling I'll be needing a few highlighters going through it. I plan on reading this more than once, and more than 10 times would not be outside the realm of possibility. This is a great book for anyone. The unbeliever may understand where a Christian is coming from and also might provide some answers to questions that are often asked. A new believer would be able to utilize this to start a FIRM and SOLID foundation for any future Bible study with application for not only Bible knowledge but God-directed growth. A solid Christian will find themselves challenged to make sure they are secure in what they know (or have only been told) and challenged to see if they are in need of a wake up in their walk with God. I highly, highly recommend this book (with purchase alongside highlighters!). Final Grade - A+
