Claude Montefiore wrote two essays for publication. The first one discusses the genesis of St. Paul’s religion, in which he traces St. Paul’s outlook, beliefs, and activities before his conversion near Damascus. The second one shows the peculiar relation of St. Paul to liberal Judaism, which liberal Jews still see St. Paul as a Jew even though he was born and raised a Jew and then he ceased, during his conversion, to be a Jew and became an opponent of Judaism.
