Overview

The Apostle Paul never stops at mere diagnosis of our ills and problems. He always goes on to reveal their true nature and character, and shows us how to act with this knowledge to fight the good fight. In this final volume, Lloyd-Jones details Ephesians’ spiritual warrior. He discusses the call to battle, morale, discipline, the whole armor of God, and many other important and practical aspects of our Christian struggle against the forces of darkness.

Top Highlights

“The spiritual application of the helmet is obvious; the Apostle is drawing attention to the head, to the mind, the brain, the understanding, the thinking of the Christian.” (Page 309)

“‘Imputed righteousness’ is the whole foundation of our standing as Christians. An alternative term is ‘Justification by faith’!” (Page 227)

“In the second place, we have to realize our own weakness and our need of help.” (Page 18)

“The first thing you have to do is to understand the nature and the character of your problem. So we have to realize that we are called, in the Christian life, to a battle, not to a life of ease; to a battle, to a warfare, to wrestling, to a struggle.” (Page 12)

“The second great principle in addition to firmness and confidence and dependability, is watchfulness, that is, alertness.” (Page 278)
