Walking by faith means thanking God for His past blessings, trusting Him through present trials, and waiting confidently for His future promises. Habakkuk lived in a dark and confusing time, yet he discovered a truth that transformed him: “the righteous shall live by his faith.” This realization shifted him from complaining to worshiping, even when every visible circumstance collapsed around him, he still chose to rejoice in the Lord and find joy in the God of his salvation.

The type of faith God values is faith that is utterly convinced that God keeps His promises. Faith that looks back and remembers what He has done, faith that stands firm in what He is doing now, and faith that looks ahead with confidence in what He has said He will do. It is the kind of trust that holds to God’s word even when the fulfillment is not yet seen, not yet felt, not yet experienced.

The kind of faith that pleases God is faith that starts with God—faith that depends on His promises and rests in His unchanging nature. It is not blind faith, not mystical faith, not hopeful wishing. It is a clear-eyed trust in the God who speaks, the God who acts, and the God who keeps His word. That’s what we see in the woman from Mark 5. She had suffered for years, exhausted every option, and found no help. But when she heard about Jesus, she didn’t just hope He might heal her—she believed.

May we hold fast to this truth: though the challenge is real, our God is greater still.

Life’s challenges are never easy, but it’s in those very moments that we are called to trust our loving God, who works with purpose in all He allows.
