- The product details state's this book had a 2018 LOGOS release, so why does it have a future pre-order release date now? I do wish LOGOS would put pre-order release dates on books. I'm 73, so I don't want to buy something when I don't know whether it will be released next month or six years from now.
- I am sorry for the confusion. This title was made available by us as a Faithlife Ebook in 2018. That product was retired in 2020. We are now seeing if there is enough interest to justify releasing this as a Logos Reader Edition, which would have enhanced functionality compared to the previous release. Right now we are not sure if we will actually produce this or not, we are waiting to see what the response is from our customers. So it it is not possible to provide a release date yet.
- I'll be seventy-three in less than a week, so I'm reluctant to pre-order anything not knowing if it will be released in my lifetime! The book certainly looks interesting though; what little is shown.
- I probably should have checked before making a large financial commitment but it seems I would have to pay to pass my purchase onto a family member?
- I asked this by email several years ago. Hope I kept the reply somewhere! I was told I could share my logos with anyone on the same household and I could pass it on to my son when I die. Hope they still hold to this position as it seems fair, analogous to a physical library which I have mostly replaced with Logos. It would be good if they replied here to confirm.
- I am 76, and I do not worry about death.
- Here's the big question. Does newer, updated versions of books, in any way invalidate the older version, or parts of the older version?
- Greetings. Some revisions of texts are substantial enough to render the previous edition (or editions) too dated to be used, broadly speaking. Much content remains the same but some has changed for various reasons. At other times, a given revision may be rather modest and the average, non-professional reader may choose to pass. That said, if someone is involved in academic research, as a student or a professor (as I am), then the purchase if a new edition of any book is mandatory. Additionally, authors change their minds on a given issue at times, and this includes Dr. Grudem. There is more to say, but hopefully this simple rubric can help. David R
- The text should read, “of a new edition,” but I could not use the edit feature from my phone.
