- The King James Version of 1611 has been THE English translation due to its adherence to literal translation as its core driving focus along with the willful choice to use the Antiochian manuscripts as the basis of the KJV translation. So long as the CSB chooses adherence to literal translation over ease-of-reading in *all* areas of unclarity, the CSB will be a useful updated bible release due to its reworking of old idioms to new. The KJV is my core standard, however, I also use the ESV, HCSB, CSB, and ASV and dutifully compare as I study. I refuse to use the NIV as it has proven translative errors. So far, the CSB has proven to be a stable and reliable bible and is moving closer and closer to being a core required Bible in my studies along with my KJV and ESV.
