- This is a comprehensive and well-researched book, as I’ve learned to expect from Dr. Middleton. I’m thankful for such scholars who diligently search for what Scripture actually says and promises, even when it risks upsetting people who don’t like to see their strongly held traditions challenged. Middleton handles the Word of God with integrity; he clearly respects Scripture and its authority. This very rewarding read has also given me the desire to read other scholarly studies he mentioned in the text. He made me want to learn more. Highly recommended!
- This is a nice, easy to follow, brief presentation that lays out a very practical way of looking at different Bible translations and versions. I submit that it is well worth your time to watch the videos in this short course. If you've grown up with, or spent many years using a particular version or translation, it may not be obvious why other translations can be helpful. This easy-to-follow course shows the value of reading more than one translation. There are longer books on this topic, but if you only have a few minutes, this course is an excellent introduction and overview.
- The footnotes alone make TPT worth reading. Read it alongside other versions and translations, and TPT will make you think and consider. It will bring things to your attention and encourage you to meditate more deeply on God's Word. Logos makes it easy to read multiple versions side-by-side, which is profitable. You'll find it worthwhile to include TPT as one of the versions you read alongside others. It is often an enjoyable read.
- Use TPT alongside other translations. well said.
