- I have the Lexham Bible Guide: Genesis 12 - 50. It has 172,960 words and sells for $129.95 base price. My calculations based on words per page in the WBC volume 1 on Genesis by Wenham, put this Lexham Genesis volume at about 300 to 330 pages. That is the same range of pages for the WBC volume 1 on Genesis which has a base price of $44.95 on Logos. I think that accurately states the facts.
- If the Lexham Bible Guide: Genesis 12-50 volume is representative of the Lexham Bible Guide volumes, then the price per page is almost 3 times the price of a high ranking commentary. If the price is reduced 50%, it is much more reasonable, but still higher then the normal price of top commentaries. The aforementioned Genesis Lexham Guide would be about $65 at half off. That is still $20 more than the WBC Genesis commentary, which is close to 50% higher.
- ...perhaps you ought also to consider the proportion of pages in a typical lexham bible guide which are actually composed of words --- the proportion is much lower than for most text intensive commentaries...
