• An observation, based just on the title page of the pre-pub: Why did Logos tag the lead author (Nancy Dawson) as the third author? Even alphabetically, she'd still be first.
    1. It says she "presents every genealogy in the Bible in a simple, visual format", while "Esteemed biblical scholars Eugene Merrill and Andreas Kostenberger supplement Dawson's work with brief commentary on each genealogy." Evidently, Eugene Merrill and Andreas Kostenberger are "esteemed biblical scholars". Also, they're explaining what the genealogies mean, while Dawson seems to be mainly showing them in a visual format, and how they're related to each other. Personally, I accept 1 Timothy 2:11-15 as being anchored in God's order of creation, rather just a temporary, cultural situation at the time Paul wrote. Protos means first in time and rank.
    2. Honestly, it is likely unrelated to 1 Timothy 2:11-15 and more to do with marketing. Nancy Dawson is well known at Accordance, and may even be affiliated with them. I’m surprised (pleasantly) to see this offered at Logos. Nancy’s work as a stand alone reference is superb. Nothing comes close to it in terms of biblical genealogies. I’m pleased to see that Eugene and Andreas will add to it, but even they will tell you the grunt work was done by Nancy, and it is superb.
  • Book is 5+ stars; Logos version is outdated and probably isn't worth it. I'm joining the long list calling for an updated version. Any gain from the Logos functionality is likely negated by the fact that this is out of date.
