- In reading the first sample page I see that the authors do not read the text as written, but as they understand it. That is, not necessarily a literal reading but attaching an overall spiritual/ allegorical understanding to the stories found in Genesis. This is not how I understood these Bible stories as a child. It made more sense to me to understand them as literal accounts of God's Word and thus I was able to get a picture of who God is and a literal account of the origin of this world and the history of mankind. This is just an observation as I'm not a theologian or a Bible expert and thought I'd give an FYI to those interested in this volume but who don't hold to this way of reading the Bible.

- I'm interested in this volume, but I think most of the scholars I've read don't suggest a literal reading of the Bible throughout as certain books would beggar belief, such as the Song of Solomon, Psalms, and Proverbs, just to name a few. Because I think from how culture and societies develop, if one applies a literal understanding to it, one might be reading their own culture, perspectives, and biases into it, rather than trying to understand how the people back then would understand creation, and how God could help them relate to him through their understanding, which is far less technologically advanced than ours.
- I understand the mistrust of translations. I took carry that mistrust. What I do know is the NY Wright is considered the Theologian's Theologian. He has been dedicated to the original Aramaic and Greek languages and the culture of the Second temple period and New Testament era for 30+ years. Of all the translations I have peeked at, this one is the most intriguing.
- Could someone tell me if this version of Portuguese is modern or old version? I prefer an easier version to read, since I’m trying to learn the language. Thanks

- I did not read this book but I have heard his audio series on this topic. I love Bacchiocchi's deep insight in the topics he wrote about. I verily appreciated, and still do, his thoughtful and passionate contributions to our pillars of faith.
