• The comments about the delivery are not incorrect (I have actually fallen asleep) but he understands the book better than most people I've heard and the truth enclosed is life changing. If you listen to deSilva he exudes the truth from the book in almost every sentence. His statements are interconnected--just like the book--and he systematically moves through verse by verse, while tying many of the connections together. It is very deep, just like Hebrews. If you can't get past deSilva, you'll probably not read Owen either. Piper is a great recommendation, and I would probably go there first too especially before spending money. I'm happy with my faithlife course!
    1. Just purchased and they seem wonderful, but not all of them will link with a bible text. Some do, some don't... kind of frustrating. I understand how some of the titles might not exactly warrant it, but "After God’s Own Heart: The Gospel According to David by Mark J. Boda" should and so should several others. Maybe my intentions of treating them more like a commentary and reading pieces as I read the text was farfetched. If this can be updated that would be wonderful!
      1. I'm reading some books in this series. From what I understand her proposal is to present concepts of biblical theology that establish direct links, figures, symbols and types of Christ. In this sense, it is yet another conceptual book to add to the reader's elements and assumptions as he approaches the biblical text. In short, they are books to read before approaching the text rather than using it in parallel - although it is also a possibility, of course.
      2. MP Seminar "Discover Your Out of Sight Out of Mind Books" shows how to link with "non-versified" commentary like books which might help here (???).
