- Non Zero-Sum GameThis Jesus' word was the most graceful invitation for Zacchaeus and the greatest calling from his sinful life. In the verse 8, Zacchaeus ' confession was his response to this Jesus ' word. How amazing his confession is? This make us consider about what on earth this Jesus's short speaking to him was. He was a person who had struggled to go up to the highly economic status through his own efforts. We can understand this kind of his character from his way to get his situation and then overcome it to approach Jesus(verse 3-4). 'No pain and no gain' was seemed to be the important wisdom in his life. Even for meeting Jesus, he tried to do that with a capitalism like thinking even if there seemed to be his sincere wish for meeting Jesus. However, Jesus told him "Hurry and Come Down". This means he didn't have to struggle to get an opportunity to meet Jesus himself. He seemed to be so amazed by this. Jesus' attitude toward him unlike other jewish people was the God's grace to him.At that time, he realized there could be something to be able to get without his own efforts and struggling. Therefore, he could repent his Zero-sum like life and be a graceful person for others. God grace make us graceful person. We cannot only get His grace, but be a graceful person for others through God's Grace,Luke 19:5English Standard VersionAnd when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.”

- Very Powerful Praise God!!
- in the sight of the Lord or EhudIn this verse, I can see a part of human nature. I think human being tends to be evil in the sight of the Lord, not something like Ehud. What are things like Ehud to ourselves? Government Power? Religioulsy or morally excellent people? Our church pastors, sunday school teachers, fathers or neighborhoods? If we are morally or religiously dependant on these things and people, we can be naturally evil in the sight of the Lord.Judges 4:1English Standard VersionAnd the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD after Ehud died.

- RunRun away... Run far far away... Even if you have to leave your cloak behind like Joseph did in Potiphars house. When Christians get a hold of sin and what sinners can do to us (influence) we will not partake in their sins
