• I'm not Anglican, but this is a fantastic deal on several helpful resources including the BST, the IVPNTC, the ACCS, the IVPBBC and some legionary-based tools!
    1. Next to K. Snodgrass, Stories With Intent, this is the most helpful of the many books I have read on the parables of Jesus. Blomberg provides great guidelines for interpreting parables and has been instrumental in moving us past Julicher's theory of one point per parable.
      1. Excellent, highly readable, and very practical discussion of Union with Christ, a doctrine that was central to Christianity from the beginning (John 14-17, Paul's letters) and into the 18th century. J. T. Billing's and R. Letham's books on the subject are valuable for additional study, but this book provides a better introduction and is more practical for daily living. This is one of the most helpful books I have ever read.
        1. This is a wonderful introduction to Church History! When I taught Church History to undergrads I assigned this book along with Bruce Shelley's Church History in Plain Language. When I was a seminary student Gonzalez's much longer The Story of Christianity (2 vols.) was among the several books we had to read. This much shorter Essential Guide does a marvelous job of sketching the major periods and movements. It's uniquely helpful as an introduction or as a review.
