• You probably already have this 2nd edition, same publishing year, etc. The only difference is it was published under SPCK and has different cover art. I don't know why Logos does this. If you don't pay incredibly close attention to your own library you could easily purchase your own book twice without any warning from Logos.
    1. The SPCK edition is the first edition, copyright 2002, it is not the second edition. The product on this page is the second edition, copyright 2011.
    2. Hi Joe, With Daniel Scoggins' comment, I have the same book from SPCK being 2nd Edition and also 2011 copyright. I just noticed that there are some differences in formatting and some layouts -- but the contents appear to be the same. For example, in Rom 5:1-11, this edition in its preview has some keywords in bold font while the SPCK didn't have.
    3. SPCK published the 1st and 2nd edition of this book. I presume IVP picked this up at some point, merely remarketing its 2nd edition. As Ver pointed out, the only differences I see are small tweaks in its formatting, not content.
  • What's the difference between this and the "The People's Bible" commentary by Joseph Parker?
    1. Someone on the other product commented: "The People's Bible was republished as Preaching Through The Bible (Baker, 1978-2018). The 14 volume set is available in Logos (for less than this set)"
  • I agree with the acclaimed endorsements spelled out above by many exemplary biblical scholars. This book was scholarly, thorough, and highly enjoyable to read. Be aware that the text is riddled with typos that Logos needs to correct (this is not uncommon for some Logos versions, but it is distractingly evident in this book).
