• One of the best commentaries I have ever used on any Bible book. As a preacher, this was incredibly useful in exegesis.
    1. Thanks for sharing that comment. This is the kind of information I'm looking for when determining whether or not to buy a commentary. I wish more people would give information like this when they do reviews.
  • There is nothing wrong with the content of the book, it just doesn't have wide usefulness. It is basically "introductory material" - A very brief, general overview of each passage without delving into any complex issues or offering devotional or theological reflection. It's too short to be useful for anything other than, "I just need a 2-paragraph general overview." If you are a pastor, you will be far better helped by Allen Ross's universally praised volume on Genesis.
