- Since the folks at Logos read the comments...I just purchased the LRC, and I am studying Romans 12, I immediately noticed that the link at 12:3 for the NICNT must refer to the first edition. I recently purchased the 2nd edition but the link for Moo is locked. It is a little annoying too to see the locked resources even though I have Logos 8 Portfolio! But nothing to be done about that unless I pay more $$. Overall, I am still glad I got the LRC for Paul's Letters.
- Do you think these are beneficial even if one does not have all the "resources" that are linked available?
- Yes, beneficial for the owned resources but if I counted correctly, I have 38 unlocked resources in the Portfolio Package for Romans 12 and 12 locked resources. Perhaps getting the Gen 1 - 11 free book of the month will give an idea if it is a good value for purchase considering the base package a person currently has. And with the Paul collection currently on sale right now, there may not be a better time to get it.
- I was excited to have this mobile ed course. However, a lot of the content is in The Bible Back Ground Commentary and the NIV Application Commentary, both by Dr. Keener. While I enjoy seeing and hearing Dr. Keener teach, I could have saved a lot of money because I have these two books (hard copy). In fact, at the beginning of the course, Dr. Keener said, "So I’ve written one book, actually, that’s very relevant to this course, a commentary on Revelation; and also in my IVP Bible Background Commentary, the section in Revelation incorporates much of the same material in a more accessible format". I hope this post will assist others who are considering the purchase. The videos do have a transcript that accompany each segment and suggestions for further study along with activities that I have not used. I am presently on the church in Pergamum and the experience is the same so far.
- Thanks for the insight. I was going to purchase, but I too also have his two commentaries on Revelation. Think I'll redirect my book budget so as to avoid having the same material three different ways....
