- Well, you all may have noticed that Dynamic Pricing on Zondervan collections WILL be available for September, 2015, which is great! But, JUST for that ONE month . . . which is not great at all. I'm going to try and get what I can afford . . and then see if Zondervan ever wants to get back on the mat. (that's a wrestling term, if you didn't get it). It's really up to them if I become an ongoing customer.
- Will this resource be released as Versified volumes? (That is, will they be indexed with the "BIBLE" data type? If so, I will consider purchasing this. Otherwise, I don't think it's really worth publishing these older works really. We need to be able to gain access to the notes in an easy manner). THANKS!
- Well, the Bible itself is a pretty old work that I feel is worth publishing. There's quite a large group of people, myself included, who try to avoid reading anything printed in the last 100 years.
- And others like myself who will not read anything written before 1975. The old-style authors often use archaic, meaningless language (also devoid of any emotion; KJV for example; like reading Homer's fictional Odyssey), say a lot without actually saying anything. I say this from someone who was unfortunately brought up using the KJV which most Welsh Churches preferred. Being ADD and dyslexic, adding obscure speech just to pad out the pages is a real problem for me. Which is why if I use logos it's used exactly like kindle; one book open at a time and read from start to finish before looking at another. Yes, everyone is different, and logos is not aimed at users like me; I have never used any feature even from the Libronix days. I was advised to purchase upgrades that were of no use (annoyed one upgrade added 60+ interlinears (which the ex-wordsearch staff member I had always dealt with for years knew are useless to me), but anything with Greek, Hebrew, counselling, preaching. family, marriage, ministry or pastoral have no use for me). If anyone is interested, I am looking to sell my logos account (over 8k titles) as I use it so rarely (maybe three times in 2024). For my use, printed titles are best since you cannot easily flick-through digital titles as something in print (only being able to read one standard page every five or six minutes doesn't help, or forgetting what you read twenty minutes before). Next to this, I prefer kindle; especially if there are maps since logos graphics are so sub-standard (in the material I have). They look okay at 640 x 480 but anything above and they are too pixilated. Also, being mis-sold so many titles, I have no trust in logos anymore and would never purchase another logos title. If permissible under logos rules, I'd love to hear from anyone interested in purchasing my account and/or a list of titles.
- This looks good and I think I'll be glad I got it. However, these new books really need to have the appropriate Indices in them BEFORE they are released. A daily devotional like this SHOULD INDEED have the Day of Year index set up so that this book is automatically included with the other devotional resources. Likewise, all versified books such as Bible commentaries, should be tagged with the "Bible" index so the information is automatically accessible when doing verse-by-verse studies.
- I really enjoy this volume and read from it every day. It's a great reminder of our history . . and God's providential hand in our nation's founding. It would be great to have it available on my Kindle Fire, too. Has it been reformatted to operate on Android devices? Also, does this release incorporate remediation of any reported typos? If so, I think I'd buy it again at the sale price!
