Deacon Jay Frantz
- I happened to buy this because I have the paper version and thought my life could be a lot simpler with a digital version. Not so, at least with this one. The download comes with the Introduction as it is in the paper version however, there is no bible text at all, just commentary on select parts of the text. Unless one wants to use this with the paper version in hand, to me, it is virtually useless.
- As a laity who takes his faith seriously I strongly recommend the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible first and then the Catechism or Catechism package. Like Hilaire says the Ignatius comes with the RSV2CE is a separate resource but comes with the purchase of the Ignatius NT commentary. Not only is the RSV2CE the top recommended Catholic Bible by such theologians as Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Dr. Scott Hahn, et a, it also comes with the best commentary I've ever read topping that of St. Thomas Aquinas's commentaries which I have all of and am a Thomist myself. So Deacon, or anyone else, please feel free to contact me through Faithlife OGF group or directly for further info. I would be pleased to be offer further info on this since it is my top resource out of all 3100 resources I have.
- I apologize, looks like what you're referring to here is just the commentary. It used to be that you got both at $35. Now theyre selling the package with RSV2CE. I have to revise my statement and recommend the Ignatius package.
- The package containing the RSV2CE and Ignatius Study Bible notes for the NT, Genesis, and Exodus is here: https://www.logos.com/product/29516/ignatius-catholic-study-bible-new-testament-genesis-exodus-and-the-rsv2ce. The RSV2CE is also included in Verbum Foundation and higher. We'll be adding a note to this product page to make it clear that the RSV2CE is separate.
