- I purchased the commentary set recently during March Matchups sale and am absolutely loving it. I started with Romans and am finding it to be top notch while remaining crisp and precise. I own many commentaries on Romans but this one stands out with its promise of biblical theology and sound exegesis. Volumes on Hebrews and Psalms also look promising. Scholarly exegesis, biblical theology, and life application are some of the features of this new commentary set. A great buy!
- I recently purchased just the Psalms when it was on sale. It's wonderful and getting great reviews: https://bestcommentaries.com/book/20787/1683595645-psalms-james-m-hamilton-jr
- Barry's explanation is appreciated but I would still prefer to wait for other volumes to be released before you purchase them. You are likely to get offers/discounts in future too and should save money for it till then. The two volumes released are excellent & highly insightful and I am sure that other vols would be also top notch.
- Considering the slow release of volumes, it is advisable to wait for the volumes to be released before you purchase them. You are likely to get discounts in future too. The volumes released so far are excellent and one just wished that other volumes could have come at a faster rate (one star less for this).
- To quote course description, it begins with first impressions of the Cave 1 scrolls, their discovery, and their early travels and ownership. It covers the problem of modern forgeries next, followed by an overview of the Second Temple period and its importance for understanding both the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible. The course then provides a description of the Qumran archaeological site and its impact on our understanding of Qumran practices. It investigates the identity of the Qumranites and insights into their beliefs and practices against the background of Second Temple Jewish groups, including the question of a possible Essene connection. The course considers methods of interpretation employed in the Dead Sea Scrolls and then describes the nature and impact of the apocryphal and pseudepigraphic Dead Sea Scrolls. It concludes with a look at how the scrolls fit into the Second Temple context of early Christianity. The course has been well organized. I have started taking up the course and so far found sessions of Dr. Andrew Perrin quite engaging and informative. With so much of material written on Dead Sea Scrolls elsewhere, the course provides you with a good introduction & background revolving the scrolls and pushes you for a more detailed study if you do intend to. I wish there were images, media, charts etc. included in the course to make the course more worthwhile (deducting one star for this). If you can get this course during Logos discounts, it would surely be a great addition to your catalogue.

- Gosh that stinks. Miles in the forums said:
We will try to make this course more media rich than our typical Mobile Ed course. It will probably not have as much media as David deSilva's AR271 course (which used pictures he and another person with him took on their tours) or our other archaeology courses (which were filmed on location in Israel), but it will have more than most of our courses. It should also have helpful activities and integration with Logos since most of the Dead Sea Scrolls are available as Logos resources.
- This excellent video study on Isaiah features Old Testament scholar John Oswalt teaching through the book of Isaiah in short, engaging, and challenging lessons. I found John Oswalt's teaching on the book very engrossing. I loved the tone, clarity, authority and the vast knowledge he brings in his lectures. Highly recommended!
- This is one top of the line commentary for Exodus. Victor P. Hamilton is a highly respected theologian and distinguished OT scholar in the evangelical world. I found the book written in a clear and accessible style with some fascinating & exegetical study notes which really helped me to open up to the riches of the book of Exodus. I got this at a steal deal in this month's discount offer which made it even better.
- This is a very good book. It unravels various prophecies in Scripture concerning the promised Messiah, his ministry, and his message. After reading it, you get edified in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and come to appreciate OT more and more. Dr. Herbert Lockyer writes with a heart of devotion and passion. Highly recommended!!!
- I found the series very helpful for studying and preaching purpose. It is void of any technical jargon and is easy to read for long. Sometimes, you need to read and visit topics without going too much deep into original languages or critical scholarship and for that, it serves its purpose well. A worthy addition at a discounted rate.
