• Hello, everyone! When we pray for God to provide opportunities for us to bring Him glory, He is faithful to answer! One of the teachers at FVE spoke these words, "thank you for encouraging us, but more importantly, thank you for hearing us." Here is another opportunity for groups to serve the teachers at Friendship Elementary School on Friday, May 5th: The first week of May is teacher appreciation week. The PTO at the school is asking for our help in providing 9 X 13 pans of pasta (lasagna, ziti, spaghetti and meatballs)- up to 10. Pasta dishes will need to be cooked, and dropped off at WBC office on Thursday, May 4th. They will be refrigerated overnight, heated to serving temperature and delivered to the school on Friday morning, as lunch starts at 10am each day. Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our affiliate is one of over 1,300 affiliates nationwide that build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. We are reaching out to our faith community in hopes that your congregation may be able to assist in providing lunches for our volunteers. As you may know, all our “builds” are completed mainly by volunteers on each Saturday of the month. Future plans include the construction of a duplex in Taneytown, as well as our Critical Home Repair Program. If your church group has the wherewithal to provide lunch for our volunteers, that would be so very helpful! If you are able to assist with lunch, please do email me.
