- What would get you to invite your friends to church? What kind of events, lessons, etc. would get you to invite people?
- I tried to invite a lot of friends during this series because I know a few friends who are wavering on their faith and I told them this was a great time to come and see both sides and learn more about God! I think any lesson would be a good time to invite friends! I remember Mason invited me in the middle of one series and I just wanted to wait until the series was over to come. But I went and we ended up talking about fully putting our trust in God and being able to help ease anxiety. So now whenever I want to invite someone I’ll ask them, and then I’ll pray about it all week long!
- Both debates have been posted! In order to get 50,000 points (this can radically change the standings!), you must: -Comment: on this post which Christian you felt defended the faith better. -Comment: which arguments you found the most convincing? -Comment: which parts of the debate surprised you the most? -Comment: Did you learn anything new? -Comment: how accurately did our “Change my mind” series depict real life athiests? Do you feel more prepared because of this series?
- Very well said Olivia! Love it!
- Josh E, you noticed the depth of the atheist arguments with figures and data and noted how fully immersed the atheist was with his persuasion. Sometimes we view the atheist perspective as something less than rigorous—an easy trap to fall into. Josh W, you noted the hostility and disrespect that the atheist showed compared with with our depictions of an “atheist.” That difference alone reinforces the need for humility and respect when facing a bona fide atheist in real life. Olivia, your comprehensive analysis of specific arguments on both sides will give you the confidence to rebut arguments in real time. You noticed the humor and good will when the Christian pointed out the atheist’s misstep. That made it easier to call out the atheist when he tried to backtrack.

I think frank turek defended it better he was very clear and he wasn’t rude to the atheist he was very calm and tried to explain his side of it without forcing it on the atheist. I think the thing about the shadows and sunshine really stuck with me because the world is never perfect and while people might think they are perfect there is always good and evil no matter what. I think what surprised me most was how the atheist in the first video was very very set on that frank turek was wrong to me it just supposed me because I didn’t expect him to be rude right out the gate lol. I did learn that defending the faith is very important to me before this series it was very just something I felt I didn’t need but now I understand I do need it to learn more. I do feel slightly prepared I think that it kinda depicted a real life atheist but it’s kinda of hard because we can’t get the full experience without a real atheist
