This volume remains meaningful for me since taking the course by the same name with G.R. Beasley-Murray in my M.Div program many years ago. It's great to have it in Logos, especially with the references and indices.

I have a physical copy of the Fleming H. Revell reprint from the late 1970s - early 1980s that features copious biographical and historical footnotes throughout. Be aware that the Logos version does not have any of these very helpful notes.

One day into this read and I'm hooked. It is a well organized, easy to read summary of Christian Doctrine as understood by those who subscribe to confessional Lutheran theology (read LCMS, WELLS, CLB, NALC, etc). I haven't read it so thoroughly as to be able to compare it with Mueller or Pieper though it is clearly more comprehensible because of the contemporary language.
