- This is a great book. I got mine last year and finally made it here to write a review. Mark Ward has done a fantastic job tackling a very controversial subject. The whole book is good, but the chapter on dead words and "false friends" is worth its weight in gold. So, grab this book, get the audio book too, and follow Mark Ward on YouTube. You will be glad you did! Five stars, but only because I couldn't give ten!
- This is one of my favorite English translations of the Bible. I love how the translators left many good footnotes, and their use of God's covenant name Yahweh makes this a translation that stands out above the rest. While I use my calfskin Inside Column Reference edition a lot I do like the Logos Bible Software edition and use it daily in my studies and sermon prep.
- John Gill is a classic. When I was first called to preach at the ripe old age of 16, an older preacher recommended I read this one, so I secured a copy and read it. Gill is very thorough. If you want a deep view of the great doctrines of the Christian faith, this book is a great one to have. Use it for reference, or better yet, read it cover to cover. You'll be greatly blessed I am sure.
- His commentary is a good reference source
- Great mug! Keeps my coffee warm while I’m focused on all the great resources available in Logos Bible Software….so focused that I forget about my coffee. I also love the fact that it has John 1:1 on the other side, a reminder that Logos is more than just great Bible software. :)
