- Somewhat disappointing. Based on the description I was hoping for a study on how Christianity in the first few centuries AD had been influenced by Plato's writings, in a parallel with the people of the old covenant being influenced by the nations around them (starting with the golden calf). The viewpoints of some individuals are discussed (not always in chronological sequence). Sometimes the reader has to realise that a platonic description does not fit the Bible. For example, after quoting Gen 2 that a living soul is the combination of dust of the earth and God's breath, the writer immediately carries on with the distinction between body and soul, although later calling a human an "enfleshed soul".
- I also upgraded to Logos 8. As it gets more and more features, I sometimes struggle to know where to look. With the help from the community I have managed to solve the questions I had, especially around Notes. What I do notice is a much longer time to load when starting the program. I don't really use the new dashboard - I haven't spent the time figuring out how to use it. So now it is just a list trying to get me to spend more.
- Thank you for upgrading to Logos 8. We have some great instructional information for Logos 8 available at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/categories/360000675231.
- Agree with the comments that the HSV would be a very welcome addition. The language of the NBG'51 was rather archaic at the time of publication, almost 65 years ago (retirement age?). This was to attract those using the Statenvertaling (equivalent of the KJV). The NBV would be nice, but was never intended as a study Bible. I don't know of any efforts to link it to Strong numbering.
