Excellent read. Part of the "order of service" at the historic Metropolitan Tabernacle is the pastoral prayer. I love this book because I have grown to love Spurgeon sermons. If Spurgeon sermons are anything like what a sermon ought to look like or be, then this book shapes what prayers or pastoral prayers ought to look like or be. I find here a wealth and depth of spiritual devotions. This book is worth reading over and over again much like I would read Lectures to My Students over and again.
