• RLOM Home Update Join Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries in a prayer of thanksgiving, as through the generosity of many in northern Illinois and beyond, they recently met their Phase Two funding goal in expanding the Maternity Home Ministry in East Dundee, IL! Faithful support from congregations and individuals now totals $350,000, allowing RLOM to close on the sale of the home, complete the renovations needed, and hire the staff who will ensure their clients are cared for with the love and mercy of Jesus. Stay up to date on their progress by visiting rlom.org and pray for God’s continued blessings through His people as they seek to serve mothers and babies.
    1. Praise God for His faithfulness and the generosity of all who have supported this ministry with their gifts and prayers. May He bring it to completion!!

  • There is exciting news to report about the Redeeming Life Outreach Ministry [RLOM}!! As you may remember, our synod has one maternity home for women with crises pregnancies in Florida. For years the plan was to expand to a second home in The Northern Illinois District. Unfortunately, there have been many setbacks particularly with zoning. It was recently announced that we are under contract to purchase a home on the property of Immanuel Lutheran East Dundee . The home will be renovated to become a 4 bedroom maternity home.  There has been ongoing fundraising to accomplish the expansion. Our church alone raised over $5000 last year for the expansion in our baby bottle campaign. Our school children gave over $400 in chapel offerings too! Ongoing support will be needed for the home when it is up and running. Please stay tuned to see how you might participate and support this wonderful ministry that celebrates God- given life!! If you have any question or ideas please reach out to the RLOM advocates at Immanuel, Erica Ciro and Laura Klein
    1. , , and I traveled to Chicago this afternoon to join in the Chicago March for Life. LCMS president Harrison gave a great speech at the March, and we enjoyed marching next to him and our fellow LCMS members despite the cold! Got a glimpse of NID president Buss at the conference center, but we had to leave early to catch our taxi to the train. Link to the LCMS gathering recording coming soon.
      1. It's supposed to be 30 degrees in Chicago tomorrow. A warmup from this past week😂😂 Make sure to dress warm! T-shirts will be delivered today and I'll bring them with tomorrow. My plan is to wear a long sleeve shirt and put the t over it.
        1. Here are the train schedules for tomorrow.
      2. Convention update from Kris Blackwell at NID on Jan 3: For those of you who are registered at MLF Chicago 2022 but not with the LCMS Life and for those of you who are still deciding about going, here is the latest from Synod on where to meet for the March as a group and the 4PM gathering after the March. From: Life Ministry <LifeMinistry@lcms.org> Date: Mon, Jan 3, 2022 at 9:25 AM Subject: March for Life Chicago Updates To: Life Ministry <LifeMinistry@lcms.org> Greetings in Christ!   LCMS Life Ministry looks forward to seeing you this Saturday, January 8th, for the March for Life Chicago! The LCMS group will meet at 12:00pm in the Chicago Hilton Lobby at the top of the left staircase. Hats and signs will be distributed as needed. We will leave the hotel at 12:30pm and walk together to Federal Plaza where the rally and subsequent march will start at 1:00pm. After the March for Life, we encourage you to come to a special LCMS event- A Q&A with President Matthew Harrison! This event will be held at the Chicago Hilton Hotel at 4:00pm and is open to the public. Feel free to encourage local folks to come, even if they are not marching! We ask that questions be sent to lifeministry@lcms.org in advance for President Harrison to prepare. He will also take live questions at the event itself.   In order for Life Ministry to bring enough hats and signs for all our marchers, we ask that you either respond with the total headcount of marchers in your group OR continue to have folks register at https://www.lcms-onm.org/need/detail/?need_id=627330 Registration also ensures that no one misses vital information via text or email.   In regards to COVID-19 precautions, this is a reminder that masks are required indoors at all times in the city of Chicago. There has also been an update of information regarding the mandatory vaccine screening from the Hilton Hotel. The Hilton Hotel will not require vaccine screening for any of the March for Life Chicago events including the LCMS event at 4pm. However, restaurants in the hotel and throughout the city will require proof of vaccination so keep that in mind as you make your travel plans. More information can be found here: https://marchforlifechicago.org/faq   We look forward to marching together this weekend! If you have questions about this weekend’s event, please let me know.   In Christ, Emma Heinz Deaconess Intern LCMS Life Ministry
        1. An update from Kevin at March for Life Chicago on 12/31 regarding the upcoming Convention and how Cook County COVID requirements affect it Save Midwestern Lives. March in Chicago. Get the Schedule >The March for Life Chicago is ON January 8, 2022 We're thrilled to bring the Rally, March, and Convention back to downtown Chicago in just 9 days! Thank you for your patience for those who have reached out to us since the City of Chicago introduced a Proof of Vaccination for indoor dining and indoor fitness. We responded right away when the City of Chicago announced this (just 9 days ago). Our team has been working around the clock with legal counsel, the Hilton, and many more. Good news: the majority of the March for Life Chicago events are not impacted! Here's what you need to know: The Rally and March are happening (from Federal Plaza to the Hilton)! There are no vaccine screening requirements for outdoor events. The Convention is also a go. There is no screening requirement to enter the building to see exhibitors, drop off diapers for the Diaper Drive, or attend educational breakouts, the youth rally, Mass or LCMS gathering. There is food available at the Convention! The Grab and Go option does not have have a screening requirement, so anyone can access that. The City's order does apply to the restaurants (Kitty O'Shea's & 720 bar); the Hilton will be screening for vaccines at those restaurants. The Hilton will also not require vaccine cards for overnight guests. Bathrooms are fully available - portable options at the Rally and bathrooms at the Convention. *The Banquet: The order impacts the Banquet. We had planned on the Hilton communicating those details today, but those details will not be set until the effective date on Monday, Jan. 3rd.   We can't wait to see you and so many more in less than 10 days! We hope this information helps as you make your plans - you can find even more details below. (If you are a Sponsor, Student, Banquet attendee, or Group Leader, expect further communications from staffers soon). The March and Rally We have the permit to rally and are ready to make a huge public witness in the streets of Chicago. The Rally that precedes the March begins at 1 p.m. in Federal Plaza. If you're coming from a morning at the Convention that's a pretty simple walk and, in fact, the March will bring you right back to the Hilton at the end, so parking or getting bus drop-offs and pick-ups near the Hilton is the way to go. Bring your winter weather gear and either bring signs or get some from our volunteers on the day-of. We'll also have portable toilets onsite at the Plaza. You'll hear a fantastic line-up of speakers at the Rally and then we'll get going with the March! The Convention So many of you are already signed up to join us at the Convention at the Hilton at 720 S. Michigan Ave., both before and after the March for Life Chicago. This year, we've added some information-packed Educational Breakout sessions from pro-life leaders, which will equip you with the information you need to build a pro-life culture in your local communities. Be sure to plan to bring diapers for the Diaper Drive (or donate them online)! Doors open for the Convention at 8 a.m. To enter, all you'll need is your registration confirmation email from us, either printed out or easily accessible on your phone. Volunteers will take a look at those and you'll be set to go to enjoy the Expo, Breakout sessions, and more. (If you're coming with a group, talk to your group leader about which registration option he/she is doing.) If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to do so. It's free! Quick grab and go food options that don't fall under the recent Chicago city mandate include the Herb N' Kitchen, conveniently located right within the Hilton. And of course, there are similar setups in places nearby. The Convention is happening and truly going to be the biggest pro-life gathering in the Midwest this year! With over 50 booths, you can discover tons of ways to connect and serve throughout the year!  Register for the Convention > Loving Life, P.S. Have you seen the March for Life Chicago 2022 promo video yet?
