The New Jerusalem Bible is perhaps my favorite version of all. I have the "Readers Edition" Logos module but when I saw that this is coming I unhesitatingly pre-ordered it. This is what I really want. It's such a magnificent Bible!

It is a really beautiful translation! But I love the Knox translation which was used in England until Vatican II see http://www.newadvent.org/bible/joh013.htm

I agree, the Knox translation is great too. Monsignor Knox was a brilliant writer and some of his renderings are magnificent. If Logos ever comes out with edition of his translation I'd probably snap that one up too.

One of my professors in seminary used to recommend Hastings. He was impressed with how much of it was still relevant. I just got an email saying pre-pub closed and it will be released on 3/20. Looking forward to it.

In my view this is the most useful systematic theologies in the last 100 years because it is a brilliant synthesis of the faith of the early church. (What he synthesized is available now in the marvelous Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture.) It is true that some consider him "Arminian," but that is based more on the fact that Oden is a Methodist than on anything he writes in this work. The one volume version of this theology is my constant companion and I'm so glad the full 3 volumes is now part of my Logos software.
